It always comes down to the actual resume writer, and top notch writers lead the list of reasons to
consider Resume Corner. Each holds a minimum of a Master's Degree (yes, a
Master's Degree)and significant industry-specific expertise, as well as the expected certification.
Up front pricing, straight forward guarantee, and a wealth of career resources top out that list.
How it works:
Place your order, selecting a stand-alone resume or resume package
(including cover letter and/or resume distribution) from one of four categories--student, professional,
technology professional or executive. You'll be asked to attach a current copy of your resume, or
otherwise send in your career history.
Once your order is received, a certified resume writer on staff will contact you to arrange a telephone
interview to discuss your career in further detail. A draft resume is subsequently prepared and submitted to
you via email for your approval. Request any changes or corrections. Once finalized, your resume will be
sent to you via email in 3 formats: as a Microsoft Word document, as a PDF file, and in an ASCII format
(Internet ready). The company guarantees you'll receive one or more interviews within 30 days, or
they will re-write the resume at no charge.
Here's what we liked:
-
Top notch talent. All writers have at least a Master's Degree in addition to requisite
resume certification. And your assigned writer works one-on-one with you.
- Pricing is fair and spelled out completely. To craft a resume for a student or recent graduate
is only $99.00. A mid-level business professional will pay $169.00. A technology professional (IT, engineers,
project managers, et al.) will pay $229.00. VP's and C-Level executives pay $295.00. A cover
letter crafted with the resume will bump the price up from $30.00 to $50.00.
- Three free formats. You won't need to worry about converting your resume from one format to another.
Microsoft Word, PDF and ASCII have you covered completely in the career marketplace.
- Included with all resumes and resume packages: free 'thank you' letter, reference list, and keyword
scannable documents.
- Resume distribution service to 100's of recruiters and headhunters, which is offered at package
pricing.
- Guaranteed interviews.
Here's what we didn't like:
Complaints on the Web. There are a few; inattentive customer service and delays in completing projects.
While not indicative of all customers' experiences, it does give us pause. We'll monitor going forward.
Established in 2000, ResumeCorner.com provides a straight-forward guarantee and public
pronouncement "we work till you are happy." While we would like to have seen more than two sample resumes
made available on their site, and we never like to see customer complaints, we note those two reservations
and continue to recommend the company to those serious about improving their chances in landing
key job interviews and competing in a crowded marketplace.
